🍂 Autumn Moments at Hôtel Koru – between flowers, scents and slow walks
October and November have their own rhythm.
The days grow shorter, the light softens, and the nature around Hôtel Koru turns to shades of copper, bordeaux and gold. It’s the time of year when the garden, the hotel — and we ourselves — find a different kind of calm.
We love these months when everything slows down a little.
As the low season begins, time suddenly opens up again: time to breathe, to create, to walk, to dream. Our days fill with small, cosy rituals that make life feel richer and more grounded.
In the garden, I gather branches, grasses and seed pods to make floral arrangements.
I try to use as much as possible from what nature offers — because autumn is, without a doubt, her most generous season. As I arrange the leaves, I’m already imagining the Christmas decorations: natural textures, warm tones, and hints of deep bordeaux – the colour trend of this winter.
Inside, the days are filled with the scent of cinnamon and vanilla.
Cinnamon rolls, cookies, pumpkin soup… simple recipes that make the house feel warm and alive. And when game season begins, those autumn flavours also find their way to our guests’ plates – a true taste of the season.
When we take a break, we love to walk with Saima, our Bernese Mountain Dog, along the RAVeL trail. The air is crisp, the leaves rustle under our feet, and the quiet of the landscape feels deeply soothing.
With the low season, we also find more time for ourselves: to run, to train for the London Marathon at the end of April, or simply to stroll, shop, and take in the inspiration of the new winter collections.
For us, autumn isn’t an ending — it’s a beginning.
A time to slow down, let ideas grow, and rediscover the beauty of small, simple things.

Just a little more time… to breathe.
