✨ A new year, a new challenge, a new experience to create
A new year is often the moment to embrace new challenges and explore ideas that have been growing quietly over time.
For us, this new year marks the beginning of a new challenge, combining a personal passion for handbags, materials and meaningful objects with the desire to create a new experience at Hôtel Koru.
At Koru, travel has never been only about the destination.
It is also about slowing down, reconnecting and finding inspiration.
Each room in the hotel is linked to a destination, an atmosphere, a culture.
Asia, New Zealand, the south of France, Australia…
Places that tell a story, evoke a feeling and invite a different way of seeing the world.
For some time now, one question keeps returning:
what if a part of that journey could stay with you beyond your stay?
🌿 An object to compose, like a journey
This idea was not born from the desire to create just another product.
Rather, it came from imagining a meaningful object, both practical and emotional.
An object you do not choose in a rush.
An object you take the time to compose.
This is how the idea of the Koru handbag was born:
a modular handbag, personalised by choosing colours, interchangeable flaps (rabats) and selected details.
Much like choosing the memories you keep from a journey.
Each combination tells a different story.
Each handbag becomes personal.
🧵 Time, craftsmanship and conscious choices
This project is still in development.
It is growing slowly, step by step, in collaboration with European workshops, with a focus on small runs and lasting quality.
We are currently working on:
- shapes
- materials
- colours
- and technical details
Nothing is fixed, and this is intentional.
We want to take the time to observe, adjust and refine.
Creating less, but better.
☕ An experience, not just a handbag to buy
In the spirit of Koru, we also imagine this handbag as an experience.
In time, it could be offered through creative workshops at the hotel, combined with moments of well-being such as:
- breakfast
- a wellness moment
- or a tea time
A gentle, creative pause.
A moment for yourself — to choose, assemble and create.
🤍 A project in progress
The Koru handbag is not yet available.
It is currently taking shape, slowly and thoughtfully.
In the future, we imagine several ways to discover it:
- via our website, where you could compose your own handbag
- directly at the hotel, with a curated selection of models
- or as part of a creative experience, combined with breakfast, wellness or tea time
Nothing is set in stone.
We want to listen, observe and feel first.
